Missoula-based Good Nutrition Ideas, LLC secured a six month, $75,000 Small Business Innovation Research grant from the U.S. Department of Education and the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research. The grant provides the funding for Good Nutrition Ideas to commercialize the nutrition intervention, MenuChoice, for adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities who live in community-based group homes.
MenuChoice will be an innovative product based on the popular program, MENU-AIDDs, which was developed in partnership with the University of Montana and the Montana Disability and Health Program. MENU-AIDDs improves the food systems in the homes leading to better weight management, better gastrointestinal health and better dietary intake for the individuals who live there.
